The Tidewater Component of the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association represents one of the most dynamic and diverse regions in the Commonwealth. Our component includes the counties and cities of Brunswick, Greensville, Sussex, Prince George, Isle of Wight, Southampton, Northampton, Accomack, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Franklin, and Emporia. We are proud to serve a broad coastal and inland community, with strong ties to both rural and urban populations.

Home to Old Dominion University’s School of Dental Hygiene, the Tidewater Component is a vital center of clinical practice, education, and professional collaboration. Our members are leaders in advancing the art and science of dental hygiene, supporting advocacy efforts, and promoting oral health initiatives throughout the region. We invite all dental hygienists in the Tidewater area to connect with us, participate in our programs, and help shape the future of our profession.
